History

The Mk IV Jaguar was a saloon car built between 1945 and 1948 by the Jaguar company.

Jaguar was the model name given to the complete range of cars built by SS Cars Ltd before Word War 2. The cars had little difference in names and were titled SS Jaguar 1.5 litre, 2.5 litre or 3.5 litre. The sports car that they produced was called the SS Jaguar 100.

After World War 2 the company became known as Jaguar Cars. The term Mark IV was applied by the industry to differentiate between the Mark V which was produced after the Mark IV. Of all the versions produced over 25,000 cars were produced in those 4 years.
